New Product Alert - Sula Paint & Peel Nail Polish

By Makeup Addict · March 31, 2009 · 0 Comments · 165 Views

When I decided to launch a nail color collection I was shocked to learn that the formulation of typical polish is similar to car paint and vowed never to create such a toxic product,” says creator Susanne Lang. What she did create is a water-based formulation that's free of formaldehyde, toluene and phthalates. After drying, the polish peels off in one piece.

Paint & Peel Polish comes in both classic – pinks, corals and reds – and trendy – blue, green, grey – shades and there are even two top coats, one clear and the other with shimmer that make the polish last longer.    $9.00   Available at Sula

Sula Paint & Peel Nail Polish sounds like something that is so useful and practical.  Imagine just peeling it all off in one layer.  No more nail polish remover - hurray!  Have to run out and try some of these yummy colors and tints.

Laura Geller Spackle

By Makeup Addict · March 30, 2009 · 0 Comments · 156 Views

One of Laura Geller's signature creations - a sleek foundation primer.
What it is formulated to do:
This sleek undercoat smoothes and perfects skin's texture, prepping it for foundation. Formulated with nourishing, soothing botanicals, it's lush, lightweight, and suitable for all skin types.
What else you need to know:
Spackle is 100 percent oil-free and comes in an "airless" pump so you can get every drop.    $23.00 @
Sephora

If you have not yet tried a primer for your makeup -- you definitely want to try this one.  If you have tried one - you will want to try this one also.  Laura Geller Spackle is like the primer you put on a wall before using the paint.  It prepares your face and smooths it out so that the makeup goes on smoothly and stays on.  Your complexion looks so improved after applying this Laura Geller Spackle. Once you have used it --you will be addicted to a primer.  It makes a big difference in your overall facial appearance -- all for the better.  The cost is very reasonable for the job it does.

Review - Clean Eau de Parfum by Dlish

By Makeup Addict · March 29, 2009 · 0 Comments · 212 Views

"The Original Clean Perfume is a fragrance option for those who do not like to smell like a particular perfume, but rather prefer that just-out-of-the-shower fresh smell. CLEAN combines fragrance notes of Litsea Cubeba, Orange, Sweet Lime, Pink Grapefruit, Passion Lily, Rose Geranium and White Musk."

Who would have thought a simple Clean could be sophisticated and sexy at the same time.  Clean is a wonderful fragrance that is imbued with the cleanest, freshest scents available.  Others have tried and you will feel like an advertisement for Tide or All when you use them.  Clean gives that crisp, fresh scent while just exuding freshness and sexy while also giving an air of sophistication.  Clean remains in the top 10 of my favorites.  Clean has some sibllings you might want to try also:  Clean Shower, Clean Fresh Laundry, and Clean Cotton, to name a few.  If you love fresh and crisp you will love Clean!  Let me suggest that you check EBay and Amazon for some lower prices. all avail @ SEPHORA

Cakedoo1 says: I have this in Clean Lather.. It's got a happy soapy scent, like a the aroma from that lingers right after the shower.. It's clean and light. I like to wear this to work since it's like the anti-perfume. The scent lasts with me throughout the day and remains light and fresh.. I honestly like all of their scent. I find them refreshing and easy to wear

Review - LashBlast Luxe Mascara

By Miss Style Apothecary · March 28, 2009 · 0 Comments · 151 Views

lashblast's volume-boosting formula and Big Brush give you big, bold luxurious lashes. $7.99

  • Removes easily with soap and water
  • Hypoallergenic & suitable for contact lens wearers

I have been wearing the lashblast formula since they released it (pretty much).. I love it and am in particular with the brush.. I jumped for the luxe one when I saw it in the store. I chose the black platinium color.. When I look at it on the brush it looks a little shimmery but it could be the fact that it's wet on the brush. The formula doesn't disappoint in the least. It lengthens and thickens up my wispy lashes in a jiff. It's super easy to remove and doesn't flake on me.. I don't really notice any shimmery look on my lashes at all either. I still like it and will either rebuy this one or the regular lashblast.. I also wear contacts and have never experienced and adverse reaction.. I am sold!

Gotta get em! VMV's Skin Savvy 60

By Miss Style Apothecary · March 28, 2009 · 0 Comments · 182 Views

Skin Savvy 60 Ultra-High Protection, Creamy Perfection, Liquid-Créme Foundation

Ultra-high protection and creamy perfection. This skin lightening, skin-caring coverage is Armada Face and Body Shield 60 in a perfect –finish foundation.

Opaque, full-spectrum protection against indoor and outdoor UVA, UVB, Infrared, and Visible Light: SPF 60, High PFA, PFI, PFV. Helps prevent hyperpigmentations, photoageing and skin cancer. Regular use can help lighten hyperpigmentations and help enable overall skin to lighten naturally.

Full-coverage liquid-créme masks blemishes and gives skin an up-close-touch-it-perfect finish. Light weight comfort.

I am not a fan of full coverage anything on my face but this may be the exception. It's clear that we need the most protection possible for our skin so this seems totally worth the jump of $50.00 I have spend a lot more than that on my foundations, it comes down to what works for me.. I am usually on the hunt for a lighter foundation now but am hoping this will give me the ability to really spread out and blend in for a natural look.. Also the pic is on the right.. Enjoy!

New Product Alert - Shiseido 'White Lucent' Immediate Brightening Set

By Miss Style Apothecary · March 22, 2009 · 0 Comments · 167 Views

The ultimate brightening solution for perfectly radiant, even-toned skin. This set was specially created to help reduce the appearance of dark spots and retextures skin for vibrant clarity in just three weeks. Includes a travel size of the White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum (0.54 oz.) plus three White Lucent Intensive Brightening Mask treatments (3 sheets).
I love the Shiseido line. I've never broken out or experienced and adverse reactions, I did experience a shortage in the wallet. Their line isn't as expensive as others but it is a lot. I love products that give you a spa experience at home without the trip to the spa.. Very nice and upon my next scout out at the cosmetic counters, I will be checking this out!

Canyon Ranch 'Age Transforming' Concentrate Serum

By Makeup Addict · March 21, 2009 · 0 Comments · 245 Views

Canyon Ranch 'Age Transforming' Concentrate Serum is worth every penny.  It does cost a pretty penny -- but it is like a magic elixir.  You see immediate results.  It is an amazing cream.  I recently spotted them on QVC selling the product at a discounted price and it was a very good price so keep checking QVC to see when they are on again.

You simply follow the directions to apply and it is immediately absorbed into your skin.  Your skin will feel firmer but with more elasticity to it.  Your skin's appearance is actually improved right away and you will see and feel the difference.  On QVC they explained that people pay quite a bit to stay at their Spa and when you pay that kind of money -- you expect immediate results or you will not return or refer people to their Spa.  Thus, they had to come up with something that showed such dramatic results fast.  If I had not used the product I admit I would have been leery of such claims.  However, it is one of the best 'serums' I have ever used on my face.  It is like a mini fountain of youth.  Look for it on EBay also -- it has been on there for an excellent half the regular price.  You will not be sorry.

Gotta get em! Trish McEvoy "The Ball" Sponge

By Miss Style Apothecary · March 16, 2009 · 1 Comment · 193 Views

Trish developed The Ball for women that prefer to use sponges to apply their makeup but are concerned about getting a seamless foundation or powder application every time. She designed its unique, mistake-proof shape to work with the contours of your face and effortlessly stipple and roll your foundation or powder into your skin for a perfectly blended application on contact.
~ OK, now I am a brush and sponge girl when it comes to applying makeup.. I never apply without one or the other and most of the time I use both.. This looks like a great product and I love the "ball" factor.. This means there are no edges so no way for you to really run your makeup and make a little line, if you use a sponge or brush you know what I mean.. I am on the hunt for this next time I hit nordies! Any gals out there own this? and if so your thoughts?
